Chambers have a leading practice in ‘Admiralty and Shipping’ law. We have a solid academic and professional experience in the field of ‘Dry & Wet’ shipping. The team includes two qualified marine engineers, one of whom worked as master in the ship for 15(fifteen) years and then completed MSc in Marine Transport and Management from the University of Newcastle, UK. He has 10 years of experience in consultancy and surveying on various ships. We work for ship-owners, charterers, cargo service providers along with their insurers.

ii)    Arbitration

We have widespread experience in domestic and international arbitration. We assemble efficient team to minimize the cost and time to resolve clients’ disputes. We identify and put into operation the most cost effective business solution either by pursuing litigation or other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

iii)    Banking and Financing

K&A is widely renowned as having an outstanding practice in Banking and Finance and has a wonderful reputation for working on a variety of ground-breaking issues in this sector. Our head of chambers worked for the Bank of New York, Arab Malaysia Bank and Bangladesh Bank while he was working with ‘Amir&Amir’ Law Associates. K&A works dedicatedly to establish fundamental rights which are enshrined in our constitution through Writ jurisdiction. The Head of Chambers closely worked and appeared before the Supreme Court of Bangladesh with Barrister M. Amir-ul Islam, senior advocate who was one of the members of the Constitution Drafting Committee. vi)         Employment law

K&A has experience in all aspects of employment law and act both in an advisory capacity and as advocates; appear before the Labour Court and the Labour Appellate Tribunal. We advise foreign companies interested to establish a factory in Bangladesh on employment issues in compliance with the Bangladesh Labour Code, 2006.
